When I was younger, I wanted to be a teacher. Seriously. But after hearing that Jim Jones might be teaching a course for eight weeks, I would rather drink antifreeze that listen to him lecture about the music business.

While I hope this doesn’t come to light, Jim Jones teaching any kind of course should not be a good enough reason for kids to want to attend. The video itself just basically tells me that Jim Jones is going to make it up as he goes along. Dancing and sh-t.

Celebrities opening schools seems to be the new trend. Out with endorsing alcohol, in with opening schools and teaching courses. Once again, just because a person attaches a name to the school or a course, doesn’t mean I’m going to enroll right away. And who is to say they are going to show up?

Jim Jones needs to enroll in a personal hygiene course.

I wonder if Lil’ Kim, Da Brat, Remy Ma, DMX, T.I., or any other rapper had the privilege to give out autographs while being incarcerated. And what for?

I can see if Lil’ Wayne was performing a concert while doing his time, because that would be memorable for the other inmates in prison, but giving out autographs? What good will that do for them? Via TMZ: 

“Lil Wayne’s signature move in jail won’t have anything to do with his actual signature — TMZ has learned he’s been instructed not to sign a single autograph during his stint at Rikers Island.

A rep for the Correction Officer’s Benevolent Association tells us officials issued the no autograph mandate because “Lil Wayne is not a celebrity in here.”

The rep also tells us Wayne isn’t getting any special treatment while at Rikers — but we’re told the rapper really hasn’t requested anything out of the ordinary.

Weezy is nearly a week into the yearlong jail sentence he received for a gun-related crime — but he could get out after 8 months if he stays on his best behavior.”

I came across an interview with Usher on Billboard’s website and  it states that his new album promises that Usher is going to let go of his “old man sh-t” (according to Mark Pitts, an A&R). So what Pitts is basically saying that since Usher’s 31, divorced with two kids, that’s considered “old man sh-t”?  

Usher swears up and down that his album  is not talking about his personal business, his divorce (I’m not convinced, have you heard “Papers”?). After listening to “OMG” the other day, along with other songs, I wonder if Usher still has it.

Raymond” was never envisioned as a contemporary take on Marvin Gaye’s 1979 marriage-rending epic, “Here My Dear.” It was more about “we’ve got to get this old-man shit off you; you’ve got to have some fun,” says Mark Pitts, who A&R’d the project and is president of black music for Jive Label Group. “We said, ‘We’ve got to get the guys wanting to be him and the girls wanting to do him.’ That was our approach.”

What I think Mark Pitts probably meant to say was that Usher needs to let that baggage go (take that however you wish) or “let it burn”, but if being 31, divorced with 2 kids is old, I can only imagine what they are saying about the rest of the music and entertainment industry. Sheesh.

To me, his last album (when he was married) didn’t scream “old man” to me. I liked “Love in this Club” (maybe I’m the only one)!

Frankly, if a DJ is screaming all over the album “WE THE BEST!!” and not actually rapping, then chances are no one is really going to buy his album. I don’t care how many guest appearances are on the album. Why is it even an album? It might as well be a mixtape.

So imagine my surprise (and much delight) when I read that DJ Khaled barely made the top 10. I barely contained myself.

“According to today’s (March 10) Nielsen SoundScan report, Khaled’s fourth album, Victory, grabbed the No. 14 spot on the charts, after selling 27,800 units in its first week. Despite featuring such big name artists as Lil Wayne, Young Jeezy, Drake, Rick Ross and Usher, among others, the disc was the Terror Squad rep’s lowest earning first week effort to-date.

Maybe the problem is, DJ Khaled has the same people on his “album” (Lil’ Wayne, Rick Ross, Akon, etc.). Just a thought.

I know one person (and that person isn’t me) who will kill me for saying this, but Kelis is giving me “Blue Man Group” at the moment! The nose ring with the jewelry is so 90’s, remember Jane Child (the white girl who sang “Don’t Want to Fall in Love”?)? She is also giving me “deer in headlights”.

I guess Ja Rule is not releasing an album anytime soon. I haven’t really caught on to his acting career, so I don’t know if he has the acting chops.

But to star in a movie titled “I’m In Love With a Church Girl”? (Oh, the title.) Could you imagine Ja Rule not cursing? Can you imagine him not sing-rapping? GASP!

“Queens, New York rapper Ja Rule has signed on the star opposite former 3LW/Cheetah Girl member Adrienne Bailon in the upcoming movie I’m In Love With A Church Girl.

The movie is being produced by independent movie company Reverence Gospel Media and directed by Steve Race.

Ja Rule will play a big time drug dealer who has turned his life around, but still associates with his former colleagues and friends.

He meets the girl of his dreams and has to choose between returning to his old way of life or continuing down a legitimate path.

The movie is the latest film for Ja Rule, who has starred in movies like Shall We Dance, The Fast and the Furious and Scary Movie 3.

I can only imagine the soundtrack. What if T-Pain was on the soundtrack and replaced “I’m in love with a stripper” with “I’m in love with a church girl”? Hilarious!

See, it would have been different if D’Angelo looked like he did in the “Untitled (How Does It Feel?)” video. Maybe….but I highly doubt he looks anything like that now. HMPH! $40? And he had $12,000 stashed in his car? Is he THAT cheap?

For the last two seasons of “Real Housewives of Atlanta” I was trying to figure out who “Big Poppa” was and now Kim Zolciak is a lesbian? Is she following the trend of Lindsey Lohan because it seems like dating a DJ is in, after they’ve pretty much given up on men. (Is there that much shortage in men in Atlanta that women have to turn to other women now?)

Zolciak, 31, stepped out with her love of three months, DJ Tracy Young, at the Blacks’ Annual Gala in Miami Beach on Saturday. 

Young, who made a remix of Zolciak’s song “Tardy for the Party,” was overheard saying, “We’re really happy!”

A source tells Us, “Tracy broke up with her longtime girlfriend to be with Kim. Since they’ve been together, Tracy lost a lot of weight and got really skinny for Kim. They seem to be beyond happy with each other.”

Last week, Real Housewives of New York star Simon van Kempen (who is married to Alex McCord) hinted to Us that Zolciak’s sexuality would be a storyline on the Bravo reality series.

By now, I’ve pretty much found out the formula to “DWTS” casting. You get a singer/rapper (or two), a former TV star (or two or three), an athlete/olympian, a reality star, a couple of unknowns and someone really old. Works every time.

When someone asks me if there is such a thing as having too many tattoos or tattoos that turn me off, I refer to a few people; Lil’ Wayne, Danger (“For the Love of Ray-J”), Mike Tyson. And now Birdman.

To each his own when it comes to tattoos, but wasn’t the last one a bit much? And Birdman decided to add more stars on his dome?

40 something years old with stars on his head. A mess. Doesn’t any of the ink go through his scalp and his brain?

Remember two years ago we were rooting for her to come back? And we waited and waited and waited…..

So far it doesn’t look good. And I know, her voice isn’t what it used to be. I can deal with that. But to say that cigarettes was the reason her performance in Australia was terrible? I think I’d want my money back. Not because of her performance, but because of that wack azz excuse her tour promoter provided…as a matter of fact, he should pay me out of his pocket for telling me such BS.

“Whitney Houston’s tour promoter has offered an explanation for the singer’s faltering voice – the star refuses to quit smoking.

The R&B superstar took her Nothing But Love shows to Australia this month (Feb10), but the tour has been marred by complaints from critics and fans Down Under who claim she has been struggling to complete her sets.

Houston allegedly coughed her way through a show in Brisbane, taking regular breaks to catch her breath, while fans are reported to have walked out of her concert in Sydney when the singer’s voice began to crack.

Her spokesperson recently shrugged off rumours of ill health, and now tour promoter Andrew MCManus has opened up about Houston’s breathing difficulties, pinpointing her tobacco habit as the cause.

MCManus explains, “Whitney smokes. God bless her, I can’t tell her not to. She will not take any substances. She just will not. It is what it is. She’s comfortable with the show she’s performing.
