We all thought it was cute when Method Man said that the reason he forgot to pay his taxes was because he was high.

I will give him this much, at least he turned himself in, unlike Wesley Snipes, who had to beg the judge to remain free and had his celebrity friends write letters on his behalf (by the way, is he in jail or not?).

 ”Grammy Award-winning hip-hop star Method Man turned himself in to authorities this morning after failing to pay nearly $33,000 in back personal income taxes, officials said.

The Wu Tang member — whose real name is Clifford Smith — walked into the Staten Island DA’s office at about 8 a.m. to face felony charges in connection with neglecting to pay $32,799 dating back to 2004, according to DA Daniel Donovan.

The investigation was conducted by the DA’s office and the state Department of Taxation.

Authorities said the rapper, who lives on Staten Island, had failed to pay taxes for three years.” (source)

I still like the alibi that he gave anyhow, that he was too high to pay his taxes. Oh well, c’est la vie.

And $33,000? That’s someone’s annual salary right there! At least it’s not millions of dollars, unlike most celebrities’ back taxes. .
