Magazine apologizes for Nia Long’s controversial comments.
See, this is what I don’t like. When a celebrity speaks their mind and a magazine prints it, a few things occur, person denies they said it and blames the magazine for twisting their words or the magazine has to do something like this: apologize.
“Pride would like to apologize for the fact that editing of the final article may have left Nia’s comments open to tabloid manipulation.”
“As Europe’s premier publication for the woman of colour, Pride seeks only to celebrate the achievements of celebrities such as Nia Long and Beyonce Knowles, and hope no offense has been caused through the media speculation,” says Pride. (source)
So what? Nia Long had a problem with singers trying to act and a whole bunch of blogs (me included) got a hold of it and everyone pretty much agreed with what Nia had to say. A few others thought that Nia was bitter, but again, so what? Why do people have to apologize (in this case, a magazine) for being honest?
It makes me wonder if celebrities should watch what they say next time.

It’s called commerce. Pride didn’t want to see a decline in sales based on the fact that they may have seemingly spoke unfairly about Beyonce. It’s sad
