Beyonce is a no show at some club, gets sued (and why you shouldn’t get your hopes up).

beyonceglove2

Seriously, you shouldn’t get your hopes up when you get flyers and emails from party promoters saying that a celebrity or an athlete is supposed to be at some club. You have to take that with a grain of salt, go out and enjoy yourself regardless. We have forgotten the reason why we go out to the club! Are we going to have a good time or are we going to stargaze and hope to take pics with them?

I remember years ago when I went to the Roxy in NYC. LL Cool J was scheduled to be there and he stayed a total of 15 minutes! You know what that consisted of? Him ad libbing through his medley of songs, licking his lips, promoting his clothing line, more lip licking and then he got off the makeshift stage and left.

I personally don’t understand why these club owners and club goers get their panties up in a bunch when celebrites are not there (of course I know the answer, but that’s besides the point).  The harsh reality is, celebrities get paid to show up; if and when they do show up they stay for an hour or two, maybe less than that. Again, take that with a grain of salt and run with it.

So when it comes to Beyonce, number one, why is she always getting sued? It’s like every year there is another lawsuit with her! Number two, did you really, really believe in your heart that she was going to show up to a club to perform when she’s used to performing at arenas and stadiums? That’s like asking Mariah Carey to perform at the Shadow!!! Puleeze!

“The pop princess was slated to perform tomorrow at M2 — the West 27th Street nightclub that used to be Crobar and Mansion — as part of the launch of her “I Am . . . Sasha Fierce” North American tour. M2 owner Joey Morrissey agreed to pay the singer $200,000 for the gig, he says.

But on Wednesday, Beyoncé’s people suddenly pulled the plug on the performance, despite having signed a contract that had prompted Morrissey to spend $100,000 preparing for the show, according to the clubowner. “They said they were too busy with the launching of the tour and that they wouldn’t have time to do the kickoff party,” Morrissey tells Page Six.

To make up for the cancellation, Morrissey says Beyoncé offered to stop by the club “to hang out for an hour” on Sunday. He adds, “I mean, we sold tables for thousands of dollars for the show, and spent $100,000 renting a soundboard and other equipment, as per their stipulations. What good does her showing up for an hour do me? They’ve been totally unwilling to agree to another show.”

As a result, Morrissey says he’s now preparing to file suit against Beyoncé, claiming his place has suffered a “loss of reputation” in addition to the sunk cash. “We had an overwhelming response from our clubgoers, who were lining up to buy tickets and tables. This will come as a great disappointment to all of them,” he claims, adding, “If Beyoncé cancels and doesn’t give us a new date, this hurts our credibility in night life.”  (source)

Again, don’t get your hopes up. Don’t get all dressed up, hoping that Shaq or Lil’ Wayne will be there. If they are there, best believe that they are there for the same agenda as we are, to have a good time, pop bottles (for those of us who can afford to do so) and promote whatever it is they are promoting.

I agree with this post completely. When I first saw the flyer on beyonceonline.com, I was very skeptical. Bey was supposed to appear and Solange was supposed to perform. But, it just didn’t seem like anything to pay mad money for. I mean I’m going to the concert on Sunday in Madison Square Garden and I’d rahter see Bey there than at some club.

Don’t get me wrong the club could be really nice and huge but, that doesn’t mean that I want to to go. I’m not friends with Bey so there’s no point of going to a club (which is supposed to be an intimate party setting) and pretending to be chummy with the rich and famous. No, Bey and I are what we’re supposed to be. Singer and fan of singer. We’ll never meet or have a friendship, so I’d rather see her perform and be able to appreciate her performance and music as I always have…from afar.

I would never get my boxers in a bunch either. I never go clubbing with the thought of seeing the actual artists. I just go b/c the fact that the artist’s name was mentioned before will bring out a lot of chicks. Also I always notice that whatever goes around comes around. I never got to see Beyonce when she came to MSG, but when I was at Marquis 5 years back for Don Pooh’s party I saw her & Jay-Z. Take it all with a grain of salt my party goers. I just want to be where the chicks are at. lol
