Louis Vuitton doesn’t care about black people. Yeah, I said it!

rickrossxxlcover

Seriously, everytime a rapper (Kanye, can you hear me?) or a black celebrity is wearing Louis Vuitton (real or the Canal Street ish), who is the first one to complain about them wearing their line? Louis V. Why am I not surprised? You would think that they would be flattered that we would want to wear their ish, let alone afford it. I’m surprised LV didn’t ask XXL to reshoot the cover!

Personally, I just think the brand is overrated. Not because I can’t afford it, but because I don’t get why someone would want to wear a designer with the logo all over. To me, less is more.

So when Rick Ross wore them on cover of XXL (we hope he isn’t wearing those to bed), yet another complaint. My favorite thing about this so-called controversy is that the person who “customized” them comes to the defense and not Rick Ross himself.

According to Ross, the sunglasses worn on the cover of the May 2009 issue of XXL Magazine were customized with solid gold accents by Jacob Bernstein, AKA “The Sunglasses Pimp.”

”It’s the same thing as buying a Rolls Royce and having it tricked out; just because the product has been customized by me doesn’t take away from the fact that the frames are authentic Louis Vuitton Millionaires.” (source

Remember that rumor in the 90′s that Tommy Hilfiger didn’t like black people wearing his line? I still don’t know if that is true or not, but it just raised some eyebrows. I mean, do these designers really think that way about us behind closed doors?

I guess I can kind of side with Louis Vuitton because if someone took my line and tricked it out on some “Pimp My Couture” type mess, I would be mad too! Especially if they made like an LV helicopter or something!

Maybe we should go back to supporting black businesses and black designers then, huh? But then again, it would be difficult because last I checked, Andre 3000′s clothing line went to some website and was marked down. Hard to support anything right now during this effed up economy, isn’t it?

…so they claim that these are not actually from their line…if they are not then i can see why they’d be mad, but if they are…LV is a joke, especially w/ them doing the sneakers w/ Kanye-

It’s simply another publicity stunt to stir interest in the company. I’ll simply past though I do wear expensive name brands from time to time.

I’m pretty sure Louis Vuitton isn’t going to waste their time just to get a “publicity stunt”. They don’t need it to get business. People that want to buy them or are crazy about them are always going to pocket out the money fro their goods. A high designer like that isn’t going to waste their time claiming something is not authentic when it is. These celebrities get fake goods because they are given them, and personally don’t know that they’re fake so obviously somebody failed him.
