DMX going to “Celebrity Rehab”. (As opposed to real rehab?)

Why does it take a reality show to seek help with being clean and sober, losing weight or finding love? Can’t people do any of this in the privacy of their own home without cameras? I guess people want us to see the “real deal”, no glitz and glamour and the raw emotion.
DMX should have gone to rehab a long time ago, but who am I to say that? People have to want to change their situations, and I guess Earl decided that he wants to change or it’s for the money/fame. My guess is that since rehab costs money and DMX probably can’t afford to pay for it, this was probably the perfect opportunity to go to rehab for free and get some TV exposure.
I never got into the show ”Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew”, because the cast features a whole bunch of has beens trying to stay sober and clean. The nail in the coffin for me was when Rodney King joined the second season. I must also say, it was a damn shame that when Rodney King was on, the rest of the cast didn’t know who he was. I think a few of them assumed he was an athlete (no need for me to go there with the stereotypes).
But, back to DMX. I wonder if this rehab show will do him any good. Didn’t he go to Arizona in his last reality show to try and make a fresh start? Didn’t he say he was going to do a gospel album? Didn’t he say he was going to find God after he got out of prison? To quote him at the end of the “Ruff Ryders Anthem” song, talk is cheap! I’m a skeptic that way.

With DMX on Celeb Rehad it will definitely be interesting. I like X and I hope he gets better through this show.
