The “Arab Money” isn’t good enough for Busta Rhymes….

…because he wants Will Smith’s salary. Dayum, he’s greedy! Just kidding.
Busta wants to try his hand at TV, only if the price is right (no pun intended). I guess the record sales aren’t doing so well. (Wait, is his album even out yet?)
I love Busta. He’s all about getting money (he says so in some of his songs), but not everyone can be Will Smith, Queen Latifah or LL Cool J, who have gone mainstream and did very well for themselves. They set the bar very high for rappers to become actors and entrepeneurs. Does Busta Rhymes have what it takes to get into TV?
“BUSTA RHYMES would jump at a chance to pursue a career on the small screen – and would happily hang up the microphone if he was offered the big bucks to swap rap for TV.
The Touch It hitmaker, real name Trevor Smith, is an avid follower of actor Hugh Laurie’s medical drama House and the hit crime series CSI.The hip-hop star has tried his hand at acting with small roles in films like Shaft in 2000 and 2002’s Halloween: Resurrection, and admits following in Will Smith’s footsteps and landing a role in a TV series would be a dream come true.
He says, “Yes I would (pursue a full-time TV career). I’m a big fan of House. I’m a big CSI: Miami fanatic. “And they pay good. The Will Smith money is still crazy, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and all that. I got to know about what that syndication money look like.” (source)“
Get that extra money, Busta. I don’t blame him for not wanting to try out something different instead of the usual clothing line (he did have a clothing line years ago) or liquor. Or worse, a reality show looking for love.

Oh hell yeah. Busta used to have that clothing line BUSHE. That joint tanked something serious. Will Smith is such a rare case in that his acting career actually made him an actor first & rapper second circa 1993. B/w “The Fresh Prince of Bel Air” & his early movie roles like “Six degrees of separation”, “Bad Boys”, and “Independence Day” his rap career came close to being nonexistent. Busta Rhymes rap career almost spans 20 years, but I can only remember him in the bit parts of a movie. Maybe he could achieve decent success, but I doubt he gets to Will Smith status. That guy was transformed from a less than average actor on a sitcom, to a top notch actor who rules the 4th of July.

If Busta is looking to be at Will’s level, he’d better start some acting classes because everything that I’ve seen him in has shown him to have very minimal acting skills especially in ‘Halloween’. With some proper training under his belt, I’m sure he’d be a good actor.
