Finally, Chris Brown speaks….somewhat. Are we happy now?

All of last week, it seemed like everyone BUT Chris Brown was speaking on his and Rihanna’s behalf of the drama between them. I was wondering when he was going to say something because honestly, there were too much speculations (you know, the STD rumor, the text messages, flirtations, etc.) and no truth.
I still don’t know who did what first and/or if his career can recover from something like this. But I am glad that Chris Brown is finally speaking up, even if it is via his spokesperson…(wondering if he should have held a press conference to address this?)
“Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired. I am seeking the counseling of my pastor, my mother and other loved ones and I am committed, with God’s help, to emerging a better person.
“Much of what has been speculated or reported on blogs and/or reported in the media is wrong.
“While I would like to be able to talk about this more, until the legal issues are resolved, this is all I can say except that I have not written any messages or made any posts to Facebook, on blogs or any place else.
“Those posts or writings under my name are frauds,” the statement concludes. (source)
Well, what celebrity would put up a blog trying to defend himself (unless he was Kanye West) in the first place?
Everything aside, let’s just hope that this drama comes to a close. Yes, they are young and domestic violence is a serious issue. Celebrities are no different. They have the same issues we do. It’s only because they are famous that we are constantly talking about it and taking sides without knowing all of the truth (O.J. Simpson, 1994, anyone?). If anything, celebrities are probably f’ed up more than we’ll ever know. The difference is, they have publicists and managers covering their tracks.

FINALLY, we get just a smidgen of something from one of them. I know they were trying to get it together to tell something to the world. But I feel like the statement didn’t say much…which means that perhaps they still don’t have it together yet.

I have nothing to say about the situation. I just wish the news would STOP covering it.
