Good luck and Godspeed (and all that other stuff), DMX

So DMX wants to be a pastor, huh?
Not that there is anything wrong with that, but I just feel that whenever someone is faced with jail time or is currently serving jail time, they either turn to religion or get buff. Or they can rate the food and the perks of being in jail, like O.J. did. If that’s what it takes for him to get off the pipe and turn his life around, more power to him!
“I met the devil in God’s country,” X said. “It’s not so much who [was the devil], it’s what happens and the things that the devil does. It’s not so much a person, even though he acts through people. You can’t call any one person the devil. Because no one person has the power to be the devil.”
While coming face to face with the devil would be one of the worst experiences for some, the rapper saw it as a wake up sign and an opportunity for God to help him through the rough journey.
“It’s through all these hardships that I realized ‘You know what? This is God’s country because I met the devil here,’ ” said X. “Because if I hadn’t met the devil here, I wouldn’t have realized I was strong enough to overcome the obstacles that the devil would place in my path. It’s by overcoming these obstacles that I realized that this is God’s country because he helped me get over these obstacles. He helped me get over these hurdles.”
While DMX didn’t admit to doing anything that would warrant a jail stint, he said the situation has helped him discover his true calling… “It’s gotta me closer to my true calling on life, to realizing… to actualizing my true calling on life, which is to be a pastor.” (source)
Where is Reverend Run and Hammer when you need them? Where is T.D. Jakes? He needs some clef notes or a “Pastors for Dummies” on how to become a pastor or something because he can’t just become a pastor overnight after doing some jail time.

I would love to sit in the audience during one of his sermons. I hope DMX does stay down this path b/c I know he has MANY demons going on through his life. It takes some of us longer than others to find our way, and hopefully he found his after all of his struggles. If he can stay on the straight & narrow way of God then let no man put asunder.
