…but I really don’t think he should be doing “Dancing with the Stars”. For obvious reasons. 

I mean, he has nothing to prove! He has put out some classic albums and is still performing (even with the best of them), what does he need to do “Dancing with the Stars” for? By no means am I putting that show down, but from what I have seen, the contestants (with the exception of Vivica Fox, Master P, Toni Braxton, Mel B., and Laila Ali and a few other athletes whose names escape me) are “has-beens” trying to get their exposure. Kim Kardashian, well, she’s just going to take whatever publicity she can get.

Back to Stevie Wonder. Really now? He’s not a has-been and I kind of find it a tad bit humiliating to a living legend. He’s too good for this and he should have his “divo” moment and turn that ish down.   

“It’s not impossible but right now it’s just a thought,” the legendary musician told Valentine of 104.3 MYfm in Los Angeles. “I’ve heard some talk of us possibly doing that. I think it would be fun.”

“I’m working on my little stomach thing here,” he told the radio station. “(When I) lose some more weight, I’ll win the contest.”

Told that participating on the show is a great way to drop pounds, Stevie said, “I don’t want to be having to go there to have to lose my weight. I’ll give it a few more months, I’ll come on and it’ll be cool.

“It would be fun. I’ve watched it before.”

What? Watched it? And all these years Stevie’s been telling us that he’s blind. He then said, “I’ve checked it out before.” (source)

Stevie, we love you. You’ve been in the game for a long time and you haven’t resorted to using Autotunes in order to make a hit. You are the the sunshine of our lives and that’s why you’ll always be around. These artists owe it all to you and if it weren’t for you, they wouldn’t be where they are today.

But this? Not a good look. I’m not saying that I would lose respect for you if you decide to do the show, but let’s just say it’s like a popular TV show jumping the shark. And I really don’t want you to jump the shark pertaining to your career. Granted, everyone has made their mistakes by making poor choices, but to me, you are perfect. You could do no wrong. I would hate for them to make you into a spectacle if you take on this show.

While I understand that you might want to prove everyone wrong by appearing on the show, I just feel like you don’t owe anything to anyone but yourself. But I’ll be loving you always……
