How Sasha Fierce was conceived….

Leave it to Tina Knowles to explain the whole concept of Sasha Fierce, aka Beyonce. Why the big deal over a name, really? People are going to be moody and bitchy and lose themselves in the moment, does that mean that they get an alter ego? Moving on….

The rumor circulated recently that B. would no longer answer to Beyoncé. Tina was coming out of the bathroom one evening when she heard the announcer on Entertainment Tonight or one of those shows say that her daughter was dumping her old name. Tina thought: What’s this? Her family name is no longer good enough? “I was in shock,” Tina says. “Then they said she wanted to be called Sasha Fierce.”

“Her cousin Angie gave her that name,” Tina says with relieved laughter. “We’d tease Beyoncé about having a split personality. Me and Angie and Ty, her stylist, would work with her doing a quick change when she’d come off the stage between sets. Beyoncé would start screaming, ‘What’s wrong with you? Where’s my shoe?’ ‘Uh oh,’ we’d say, ‘Sasha is here.’ I’m like, This is some crazy person who’s doing this quick change. She’s another person up there. We don’t take it personally. Sasha is her bragging side…I don’t know whether to say it, but her hip-hop side.”

Oh, Tina, Tina. Hip-Hop side? Really?

Speaking of bragging, here’s a quote from Beyonce regarding her upbringing:

“I grew up upper-class,” she says. “Private school. My dad had a Jaguar. We’re African-American and we work together as a family, so people assume we’re like the Jacksons. But I didn’t have parents using me to get out of a bad situation.”

I thought we Virgos were supposed to be humble. You can read the rest of the interview here.

I think that Beyonce needs a reality check & an apology to every member of the Jackson family b/c those lines of bologna were absurd. You don’t desecrate an African-American institution like the Jacksons w/o sufficient proof by saying “they were used by their parents” (and in reality Katherine didn’t participate in their musical endeavors). Also she’s taking this page from her husband who has often said “Jay-Z performs on stage & approaches the microphone with this arrogance that never appears in Shawn Carter’s life.” I think Jigga has a better manner of dealing with this “alter ego.” I also thin Beyonce looks like Celine Dion in the photo on the right.

I think she was more so referring to some of the rumors that have circulated regarding her parents using her because her farther quit his job to help Beyonce with her singing career.
She seems as bout as humble as any self-made millionaire…and thats ok cause she worked hard her whole life…Lord knows if it had been me I’d probably walk around here bragn to (maybe thats why I don’t have it :)

[...] video. Don’t act like I’m the only one who thinks that way. I’m guessing this is the “hip-hop” side that Tina Knowles was talking about, referring to her Sasha Fierce alter [...]
