Beyonce’s two new songs – your two cents required.
I heard this on the radio at least three times. I thought that Beyonce was going country. However, I kept reading comments on other sites that this was nothing but a “Get Me Bodied” part two. I must be alone in this country observation.
This song hasn’t grown on me yet, I have to give this song another four or five times before I can decide whether I like it or not.
So what do you think? Back to the drawing board for her? Hits or misses?

“Single Ladies” has kind of the same feel of “Get me bodied.” It sounds okay & I know it will catch like wildfire on dance floors across the country. Her voice sounds slightly country, but she’s not exactly from the hood. “If I were a boy” was a change of pace & I thought it may sound similar to Ciara’s “Like a Boy.” It doesn’t of course, and I kind of like the content of the record & the music sounds alright. The two songs are cool although I hope they are not indicative of what her upcoming album will be.

Now, I am usually a die hard Beyonce fan (not a stan) but I usually take up for her when people talk about her. lol.
Anyway, i heard a few tracks and I have yet to be impressed with anything. I know that she can do better. She is going to have to because J Hud and J Sullivan are gonna give her a run for her money album wise. Two dope albums.
Beyonce is still a superstar though so I’m sure that the jewels might be on the album. The consumer is very fickle so they probably put the pop heavy songs out first just because.
Anyway, sorry for the long comment lol.

Honestly, I love Single Ladies!!! Its a club banga, no lie. As far as “If I were a boy” I’m not feeling it. Maybe it will take some time but I can’t see myself liking it. Even with that said, I can’t wait to see what’s on the album!

Single Ladies absolutely has a similar feel to Get Me Bodied, but I think that’s the point. Get Me Bodied was the sleeper hit on B’day for over a year and it was on radio months before it was released as a single. Up-tempo, base heavy and strong vocals is the Beyoncé recipe for a smash and Single Ladies fits that motif.
If I Were a Boy on the other hand is a different side of B. Strong vocals, simple arrangement and heartfelt lyrics; translation no booty poppin. But it still has that “I’m a strong black woman” message so it’s not completely unexpected. Honestly this is the type of record she was missing on B’day. Most of the reviews said the album was good, but too strong, too fast, and too one dimensional; there was no sensitivity or vulnerability. Guess she payed attention to the critics.
