50 Cent says Lil’ Wayne stole his “Lollipop”
50 Cent has nothing else better to do than to create beef, real or imaginary. If a second job were to be created, I think that instigator would suit him just fine.
50 claims that Lil’ Wayne took his concept of “Candy Shop” and turned it into “Lollipop”. More under the hood:
50 Cent digs Lil Wayne, but he can’t help but notice the similarities between Weezy’s summer smash “Lollipop” and his own 2005 hit “Candy Shop.” “‘Lollipop’” is ‘lick lick lick lick it like a lollipop,’” 50 told Rolling Stone, singing the verse to prove his point. “And ‘Candy Shop’ is ‘I’ll take you to the Candy Shop/ I’ll let you lick the lollipop.’” (source)
What tickles me even more is that it actually does sound like two grown men fighting over candy. Are we supposed to be entertained by rappers singing about candy in the first place?
At this point, with all the rappers turned singers lately and incorporating T-Pain (or a vocoder) in everyone’s rap songs, is it safe to say that hip-hop is dead?

I find it interesting that 50 is talking about this after Wayne just finished begging Eminem(50′s boss) to do a track with him…It’s a candy conspiracy!!

I can’t. 50 is so sad. Wayne’s Lollipop don’t sound shit like Candy Shop. (How many songs got more than a few of the same or similar lyrics?) And if the songs do have anything common other than candy, Wayne did it better. Ugh! Isn’t he supposed to be a grown ass man? Stop whinnin witcho bitch ass.

Hip Hop is so not dead, but there are some deadbeat rappers who are trying their best to sabotage it. It’s sad, but it sounds like Curtis is crying like a 5 year old who lost his candy. Keep it quiet & go your separate ways. When I hear artists like Lupe Fiasco, Nas, Talib Kweli, Mos Def, Black Thought, Q-Tip and of course my man Jigga I know that Hip Hop is still alive.
