A Tribe Called Quest will not be blessing us with another album anytime soon. In a way, I can understand where Q-Tip is coming from, but at the same time, they can’t leave us hanging like that! They are my favorite group and are in heavy rotation in my Ipod and it would have been nice to see them come back with something.
Reuniting for the third time in four years as part of the popular Rock The Bells tour, fans were hoping the tour was a first step in the group reuniting for a new album. But Q-Tip warned fans not to expect any new material from the group ever again, stating that they will never improve on what they have already created.
“It will never, ever happen,” he said. “We don’t want to be one of those groups that comes back 15 years later and puts out an album that’s not that good. It’s why the Beatles never got back together.”
Cest la vie (That means “that’s life”, for the rest of us who didn’t get it).

Q-Tip has a major point. I too love ATCQ, but they aren’t the same group they were when “Bonita Applebum”, “Lyrics 2 go”, “Check the rhyme”, “Electric Relaxation”, and “Scenario” came out. They are on heavy rotation on my Palm Treo, but they could risk that by putting out sub-par material now. I noticed that when Q-Tip put out that solo album in 1999. It was abysmal.

I love ATCQ, i thought it was gonna happen but i guess not. all of the Powerful Groups seem to be going away, ATCQ , Little Brother , Jurassic 5, Jungle Brothers, The Police, I can go on & on but Slickback doesnt want his group to disband ….Look out for that Debut album ” Slickback feat. the Slickness ” Hot Grease and Ashy Knees.
