So is this why we haven’t heard from Day 26?

day26.bmp

You know, I was kind of suspicious as to why Danity Kane was getting more exposure than Day 26. I mean, after “Making the Band 4″, I only heard like one or two songs from them and that was only on the show. I personally have a thing for male groups over female groups anyway, you know, New Edition, Earth, Wind and Fire, Boyz II Men, Silk, etc, etc. But that’s just me.

According to that other website (MTO), they are saying that Day 26 is beefing with Diddy over, you guessed it, money. They say that they weren’t properly paid. Like Sunshine Anderson’s song, haven’t we heard it all before?

And we wonder why Bad Boy isn’t the label it used to be? We all have our strengths and weaknesses, but Diddy’s weakness seems to be marketing and/or promotion. He has proved time and time again that his artists aren’t marketed or promoted properly. What happened to Babs and Ness from Making the Band 2? What happened to Donnie? Let’s not talk about Cassie. All of Diddy’s other artists are either signed to another label (Faith Evans, 112, The LOX, Mase) or just fallen off the face of the earth (Black Rob, Craig Mack, Total, etc.).

Diddy really, really needs to get it together. His track record is not looking so good. Does one honestly think that working for Diddy and/or being on his label is going to be champagne wishes and caviar dreams and all white affairs in the Hamptons? And to think, he has a reality show called, “I want to work for Diddy.”

I rest my case.

I believe that Diddy is the focus of the dude on the “Jay-Jerkin” skit on Jadakiss’ first album. He just rapes his artists for every penny, and many times these artists are left with no recourse but to leave. 112 complained about the same thing, and theirs was so legitimate. Their songs are self-produced & self written therefore they should see more money, and to an extent it didn’t happen. That’s why they joined Def Soul after 2001. Diddy is making enough money in other places. He needs to pay his artists properly for once. It hurts b/c I really believe he would’ve given Biggie the same treatment had he lived.

Seems like Diddy’s first and foremost concern is how he’s living. He’s a master self-promoter (honestly, I would like to take some lessons from that man).

From what I’ve seen, Bad Boy artists are used to make him look good. I guess sometimes when you’re looking for that stardom, you’ll overlook that.

The funny thing is that the MTB track record is awful (Danity Kane is the exception) & people STILL come running out to be a part of the show. You’d think people would be hip to what’s going on by now, but I guess it’s all for the prestige of saying that you were a part of the action.
