Maybe he's not that well versed in courtroom antics, and believes that he should trust his lawyer to do what he's paid to do. I don't think that's horrible strategy. I don't like getting into celebrity cases either b/c some get really involved & the cast of characters do change at rapid paces sometimes (i.e. Michael Jackson's molestation case).
