Is Perez Hilton clueless about hip-hop?
As I told you in my last blog post, Perez Hilton was going to be a guest correspondent on New York’s Hot 97 dishing tea with Miss Jones. But after reading this interview, it just seems like this mo-fo is clueless about hip-hop. Don’t get me wrong, he is successful at what he does and I’m not a hater by any means. Get that paper! But at least do some research. Here is some cluelessness for you under the hood.
Are you afraid of pissing any rappers off if you dish some dirt on them? I don’t care! I don’t mind pissing off people. I don’t think I’m any harsher on them than anyone else. Like, f*cking Soulja Boy. I don’t get that.
What don’t you get about Soulja Boy? He’s one of those manufactured acts who are just a product of his label and he doesn’t even really own his stuff. Does he even write his own rhymes?
(MzV: at least we can agree on that manufactured comment.)
I don’t know. I think he does. I want to get into the hip hop game then! I want to release a song.
You’re from Miami too, what about Rick Ross?
Rick Ross, that sounds familiar, isn’t he from Atlanta?
Rick Ross is from Miami. Oh, good for him. I don’t really know Rick Ross.
(MzV: Umm, okaaaayy)
What about T.I.? I don’t really know his stuff. (source)
And so again, I ask you, can he keep up with hip-hop?

I’m not surprised at all..He needs to just stick with the pissing off celebrities as far as their clothes, addictions, and relationships..

I think if they aren’t main stream rappers with any caucasian-friendly content, he wouldn’t know who they are. Like Snoop for instance, when he first emerged on the scene on that Deep Cover soundtrack, he was unknown….it wasn’t until he started watering down his music and appearing on white shows to promote his music that he became world-wide with his. It takes a “cross-over”.

Umm he needs to keep his behind in LA before he gets his feelings hurt. He needs to research before he gets on air talking out the side of his neck.

Perez Hilton needs to stay away from Hip Hop totally. He needs to stick with what he knows & or learn how to get on wikipedia & other search engines & read up on these people he plans to piss off in Hip Hop.

perez knows about as much about hip-hop as a green light knows about a red light. he sure does talk a lot of trash about some the hip-hop artists, so you’d think he’d know a little something about the game. what a fat fool!

he is a clueless homo that is for sure. But you have to blame HOT97 for going totally commercial, do try and get more promo for there station. They have totally sold out, and letting him/her on the air proves it. If you want real hip hop news the dont listen to commercial stations like hot97 check sites like hiphopspy.com
