These emotional rappers……
These rappers are killing me right now; having these emotional breakdowns and ready to hang up the mic. And I can somewhat understand. Because it’s hard out there to reach the audience with their material. Kinda like this whole blogging thing. But don’t feel bad for me.
The Game and Lupe Fiasco haven’t been in the industry long enough and already they want to retire and shyt. What kind of Jay-Z stunt is this? OK, I’m going to go all out and say, maybe they ran out of shyt to say. Or maybe it’s not the good shyt the second or third time around. Maybe they are not working with the right people (producers, management, media, etc.) Expectations are high when they put out a new album.
Here’s an excerpt from what Game had to say:
“My life is f***ed up right now,” he told the magazine. “I’m in a f***ed up place. My fans love me, and I know what they want but in a minute, I’m not gonna be physically capable of pleasing the world with music. Because my mind isn’t right. People are driving me under God’s good earth.”
“The tears coming from my left eye are from my sh** that I’m dealing with in my life, and the tears down my right cheek are tears for hip-hop.”(source)
And now Lupe:
“I don’t want to say I’m 100 percent sure, like, ‘Yeah, this is it.’ But 85 percent,” he revealed. “That 15 percent is the X factor. That could be bills. Like, ‘Lupe, you got to pay the bills.’ ‘Oh, man, I got to put out another album.’ ” (source)
So is hip hop on its last legs? Has it gotten to this point now where rappers are just ready to give it all up so soon? Or did they get their wake up call that the hip hop industry isn’t as glamorous as it seems? Or are they just plain tired and need to take a nap?
Your thoughts?

I can see why Jay contemplated retirement. He’s nearing 40 years old & he wanted to expand his horizons by taking up new challenges. These dudes are brand new to rap. I can understand why they would want to leave the Hip Hop industry at this point, but neither has been in it long enough to leave their mark. For some reason I think they’re partially stunting. I say partially b/c Game’s life may be in a horrible state, but in the end it’s hard to give up something if you love it. That’s why Jay-Z returned, and the whole time I knew he would do exactly that. These two need to take a couple of Advils & call me in the morning. lol

I dunno what game’s true reason is. All I know is that Lupe is leaving cause of the industry, so is he leaving? yeah he’s leaving is record company, but I think he might find a way to still make music.
