Ugly singers need love too!
This is what Snoop had to say regarding pretty female R & B singers vs. ugly female R & B singers:
“Look at this for example. How many ugly women selling records? None! Only the pretty ones sell records. Beyonce, Mary J, Keyshia Cole, the ugly ones don’t sell. I ain’t gon say no names, but they don’t sell records. They just be singing their little hearts out, but they don’t get no sales, cause they ugly. Now, that’s my fault? Dayum, that’s messed up! That’s not their fault that they are ugly! That is the glam squad’s fault!
Besides, there are some dudes that are not so good looking who sell records too (cough, Jay Z, cough) Oh wait, it’s not their job to look pretty in the first place, because the minute they start grooming themselves, dress a little better and what not (cough, Omarion, cough, Ne-Yo) then we accuse them of being suspect.

Omarion isn’t suspect because he’s groomed. He’s suspect because he’s in a photo with his ex group members in his draws. LOL But for real, beauty is whatever we say it is. Not everyone is partial to Beyonce, Keyshia or Alicia, just like they won’t be partial to Angie Stone, India or Erykah… but SOMEBODY out there thinks all of them are beautiful & talented. I for one won’t let some horny dudes tell me who I should think are pretty.

Unfortunately, it is a double standard in the entertainment industry. Women have to be on top of their game when in comes to looks and fashion, while the men are allowed to gain weight and have a receding hairline.

what difference does it make? if you heard their music on the radio ..r u wondering what they look like? just appreciate the music!!!! after all they are making the money when u buy their music anyway

I don’t get the mind mentality of individuals these days. Especially when it comes to the music industry. It hurts me a lot and makes me very upset knowing that there are more than a handful of talented singers out there that never and probably will never get their respect to get ahead! and for what? The way their face look and skin “brightness” I thought being a singer meant, your VOICE,MEANING,LYRICS,VOCALS and how all those quality touch the listeners. I never thought it would become on how big Beyonce’s booty is, how Cassie is pretty with her long hair! Lord help us all!

Truth Hurts! It doesn’t help if your ugly and untalented..everybody can’t be Beyonce’ and Alicia Keys..there’s alot of talented people out there for you to compete with so you have to have your own unique thing that helps you stand out above all the rest..
For example India Arie, she may not have the long black silk wrap or where fake eyelashes and all that extra stuff to enhance her looks, but she is very talented and loves herself just the way she is even if she doesn’t sell 10,000,000 copies. At the end of the day you have to be happy with who you are in the inside and out..
Uncle Snoop is crazy lol…but he has a point about society and how people are accepted by the way they look..
For example Amerie, she wouldn’d be considered ugly, BUT she definitely needs an upgrade on her talent..WEW

I feel what Snoop is saying & it’s one of the FEW things he has said that makes sense. There are so many sisters who aren’t “beautiful” according to music industry, but they are excellent sisters & decent looking. India Arie is a classic case in point. Sure her looks aren’t like Alicia Keys, but she looks cute to me. She also has a killer voice & I used to love her dreads. I hated Christopher Williams back in the day. lol

The problem with Amerie is that she has bad management, no promotion and they are probably not releasing a good single to help her record sales. Looks can only go so far, look at Cassie. She had that one single, lip synched on BET and what is she doing now? Acting and some occasional modeling (which, by the way, is what she used to do). You have to blame Diddy for that one.
